Application forms and
information on grants being offered are available between December
and the following March. The closing date for applications is
31st March 2010. The Advisory Committee of the
Barakat Trust meets in the late spring of each year to consider
applications, and applicants are informed of the results by early
Summer. The following points should be noted:

i.

All applications
must be made on the prescribed form provided for the year in
which the application is submitted, and emailed to the
Trust. We no longer accept paper applications.

ii.
|
All initial
applications for funding must be accompanied by an electronic
example of the applicant's work, in accordance with the
specifications indicated on the application form.

iii.
|
All applicants will
be required to provide two references, which must be
received by the closing date for applications. Referees
should be acquainted with the candidate and his or her work,
and in the case of scholarly research, should be senior
academics. References need to be sent directly FROM the
referee, not the candidate, and must be electronic using the
headed paper of their Institution.

Those applying to come to the U.K. as Visiting
Scholars, should provide at least one letter of support from a
senior member of a university or equivalent institution in the U.K.
and assurance that access to the material relevant for their
research will be afforded them. |
